Last night, special operations officers from MOMI's economic enforcement unit raided some of the wealthiest homes in Dragon's Cove. Acting on tips from the community, backed up by solid detective work, agents busted some of the biggest thieves the city has ever seen.
"They never saw it coming," said officer C., an undercover agent. "We caught most of them in their sleep, the money piled up around 'em."
MOMI officials have pledged a series of ongoing raids to keep the frontier city of Dragon's Cove safe for honest Sims.
We continue to watch Dragon's Cove closely.
Last night, we discovered a small cadre of players (four, in fact) who had clearly found an exploit. Their net worth was in the multiple millions of Simoleons. Those accounts are now closed, and investigations continue into the exact nature of the exploit.
We are also processing many petitions from players regarding cheating, and are acting on them aggressively. I cannot disclose more details than that due to our privacy and enforcement policy.
We believe we can, have, and will continue to catch cheaters and exploiters and take action. Our only concern at this point is where the ill-gotten gains may have gone. We are working to track down every dirty Simoleon.
Players who legitimately obtained wealth through gameplay and trades are in no danger. Players who have violated the TOS are in grave danger (if not already terminated).
If, after due diligence, we believe that there is still too much "dirty money" in Dragon's Cove, we do have a fallback strategy. It is possible for us to do a limited, economy-only wipe, retaining names, skills and relationships while erasing inventory and properties, then setting money to some reasonable level (in the $5k-$10k range, possibly adjusted by Sim age). We will clearly warn you in advance and take your input before considering such a drastic step.
