The Sims Online Task Squad is devoted to seeking out and reporting sims that violate the EA Terms of Service in ways that hurt the game play of the other players. We are not affiliated with EA, and we make no claim to be an official organization. There is nothing to join and no requirements or initiations. We are simply a loosely affiliated group of Sims that have a common purpose- get rid of the money cheaters.

We are not a vigilante group, and we do not campaign against anyone or anything. We strongly encourage all Sims to not harass anyone, innocent or guilty, and to exercise great caution is reporting. Most importantly, we want everyone to have fun!

Task Squad Message Board

When The Sims Online first came out, there was a struggle to earn money and buying an expensive object or expanding to a full-size lot on the beach was a reflection of achievement. Players opened up restaurants and game shows and casinos.

Now that has changed. Cheaters artificially inflate the economy and make the value of the Simolean meaningless.

Money and Skill houses became all-in-one centers, giving huge payouts to whoever would visit. Making money off charging for food is a distant memory. Pay doors and tip jars are ridiculous to think of. Casinos are required to operate at a loss, just to attract visitors.

What to do?
When EA announced the opening of the new city Dragon's Cove, the decided to conduct periodic raids and investigations into players suspected of cheating. The idea is that this, along with various other tweaks in game play, would help to stop DC from turning into the boring, cheat-friendly city that is now Alphaville, Blazing Falls, Jolly Pines, and the rest of the Simland.

But just hours into the game, some players found an exploit. Thanks to the diligent reporting and investigation of Sims across the city, this was resolved, and the city economy was wiped to get rid of the dirty money. This just shows how important it is for all of us to keep an eye out.

Interhogan Task Squad formed
So how to help? There is a handy button in your toolbar in the bottom left-hand corner marked '?' If you click on it you can quickly and easily report a Sim you have found cheating.

But its not enough to passively stumble across cheaters. We need to band together and aggressively seek out and destroy these villains who are ruining the game. For far far too long we have sat back and complained but done little to stem the flow of illegal money in our fair cities. Its time we take action!

How To Help:

Anyone can help. You can visit lots and keep an eye on the Sims there. Do their movement patterns follow that of a Sim controlled by a bot program? Try to talk to them and observe them. Is somebody bragging to you about an exploit? Report them. Just the knowledge that there is a real chance of punishment will help to convince many law-abiding citiSims to play the game the way it was intended.

One of the best ways to help is to post your own ideas for catching scammers, and to spread the word to your fellow Sims about the Task Squad. Please do not post any identifying information, about you or any Sims or players, and keep all comments positive.

Please exercise fairness in your investigations, should you decide to help our fellow Sims. Do not report anyone unless you have real evidence that they have cheated. Take all necessary steps to determine beyond resonable suspicion before you report. Harassing innocent gamers does a lot more harm than good. And everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
